Zorix Systems — software that powers your business

Locations

Glasgow

Our Glasgow office is a working base for engineering, delivery and QA staff, not a registered address with nobody behind it. The team here splits its time between Scottish sector work — energy and utilities, health and social care, and professional services — and project delivery for clients elsewhere in the UK.

This page describes the office, who is based there, what it specialises in, and how to arrange a visit or a workshop.

Who is based here

The Glasgow team

The office is staffed across three disciplines: software engineering, delivery management and quality assurance. Current headcount is confirmed on request during procurement.

Engineering covers backend, frontend and integration work on the technology stacks used across current client contracts, with individual engineers typically specialising in one or two of these rather than working as generalists across all three. Delivery management runs the day-to-day relationship with each client — planning, reporting, and the discovery and scoping process described on our how we work pages. Quality assurance is a dedicated function rather than something engineers do on the side, covering both manual exploratory testing and automated regression suites, which matters most on the integration-heavy builds this office tends to take on.

We are not publishing named individuals on this page. Client-facing staff are introduced directly once an engagement is under way, and we do not use staff photographs or biographies as marketing content.

What the office specialises in

Local sector focus

Glasgow is a genuine cluster for energy and utilities work: several suppliers, network operators and third-party intermediaries (TPIs) either headquarter or maintain a significant office presence in and around the city, and our team's work on broker and TPI CRM systems, quote and tender engines and billing validation software reflects that. Understanding the supplier-TPI relationship, and the volume and accuracy demands of energy billing data, is a standing area of expertise here rather than something picked up per project.

The second concentration is health and social care. Scotland's NHS boards run separately from NHS England and operate a distinct set of systems and procurement routes, and Glasgow-based staff who have worked with that context — including EHR and EPR integration and GP and practice management software, covered in more detail on those pages — bring that directly to Scottish engagements rather than treating it as a generic healthcare build.

The third area is professional services: legal, accountancy and consultancy firms across Glasgow and Edinburgh needing case, matter or client-portal systems, plus adjacent public-sector-facing work where a Scottish public body or its suppliers need a delivery partner who understands the devolved procurement and governance environment rather than treating Scotland as a regional variant of a UK-wide process.

How to work with this office

Discovery, workshops and travel

Engagements with the Glasgow team start the same way as any Zorix engagement: a discovery and scoping sprint that produces an architecture document, integration map, phased estimate and risk register before any build commitment is made. For clients in or near Glasgow, the system walkthroughs and stakeholder interviews that make up discovery are usually run onsite rather than over video, because it is faster to work through legacy systems and paper-based processes in the room with the people who use them.

Once a build is under way, the team runs periodic onsite workshops for sprint reviews, architecture decisions and user acceptance testing, alongside the usual remote stand-ups and reporting. Onsite work is not limited to Glasgow itself: the team travels routinely across the Central Belt, including Edinburgh, Falkirk, Stirling and the towns in between, for client visits, workshops and go-live support. Travel further afield — the Highlands, Islands, or outside Scotland — is scoped and costed as part of the engagement plan rather than assumed.

If your organisation is based in or near Glasgow and you want a fixed-scope estimate for a piece of work, the fastest route is to get in touch and ask for the Glasgow team directly.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is the Glasgow office open to visitors without an appointment?

No. Book a workshop or discovery session in advance so the right people are on site — our engineers and QA staff are usually split across client work and are not permanently at their desks.

Do you work with clients outside Scotland from the Glasgow office?

Yes. A meaningful share of the team's work is for clients elsewhere in the UK, delivered remotely with occasional travel. Scottish sector work is a specialism, not the only thing the office does.

Can the Glasgow team run an entire engagement, or does work move to other Zorix offices?

It depends on scope. Smaller and mid-sized engagements are usually delivered entirely from Glasgow. Larger builds may draw on engineering capacity elsewhere in the UK, Germany or Pakistan, and we tell you which at the discovery stage, not after contract signature.

How far will the team travel for onsite work?

Routine travel across the Central Belt — Glasgow, Edinburgh, and the towns between — is standard. Travel further into the Highlands or Islands, or outside Scotland, is scoped and costed separately during discovery.
